Vintage

On this page, we invite you to better know the characteristics of the vintages, which will help you in your approach to Armagnac.

Harvest year

The vintage is a specificity of Armagnac. But what are we talking about? We speak of a vintage from a ten-year-old eau-de-vie. This is the year of harvest which is specifically written on the bottle label (for example 1942, 1954, 1969…). Vintage Armagnac is an eau-de-vie that has not been blended, unlike blended Armagnacs (see Blends). Many Houses have very fine collections of vintages. Sometimes, some vintages can be over a hundred years old.

The treasures of armagnac

Over time, the oldest vintages (1880-1899 for example), by their rarity, take on a great value. The vintage, a true specificity and originality of Armagnac, is highly sought after by consumers who want to mark an event, offer an Armagnac from the year of birth of a loved one... The collector is also looking for the year that he does not yet have. Also, the Maison de l'Armagnac offers you many vintages from different Armagnac houses and terroirs.
