Boulben soils

Armagnac-Ténarèze, around the town of Condom, which some call the capital of Ténarèze, covers the northwestern part of Gers and the south of Lot-et-Garonne (around Mézin and as far as Nérac).

Its eaux-de-vie come from boubene and clay-limestone soils composed mainly of brick-colored clay silt as well as sand and pebbles.

Ténarèze is the second producing region of Armagnac (behind Bas-Armagnac) with 32% of areas identified for production.

A full-bodied character

The Ténarèze is the second producing region of Armagnac (behind Bas-Armagnac) with 32% of surface area idThis terroir, swept by a South-East wind and surrounded on both sides by Bas and Haut-Armagnac, gives powerful and fiery eaux-de-vie.

Characterized by bouquets of spices and violets, Armagnacs-Ténarèze require prolonged aging to tame this atypical character.

These eaux-de-vie are generally used in blends, thus bringing the full-bodied character to Armagnac.
