    Bas-Armagnac, whose capital is Eauze, is west of the appellation, in an area that runs from Nogaro to Villeneuve-de-Marsan, Roquefort, Gabarret (to the west), between Gers and Landes, To return to the western part of the Gers to Eauze. Its name refers to the region of production of the appellation having the lowest altitude.
    This region is the largest on the planted surface because it represents around 67% of the areas identified.
    We find on these lands, generally sandy soils also called "sandstands". These soils are mainly made up of sand (70%-90%), silt (0%-30%) and clay (0%-15%). The climate is rather temperate.

    Bas-Armagnac wine growers mainly cultivatethree grape varieties: Ugni Blanc, Colombard and Folle Blanche. These varieties bring specific characteristics to Armagnac, contributing to its unique aromatic profile.     The distillation of wines to obtain Armagnac is carried out according to thetraditional method called "Armagnacaise".     After distillation, the Armagnacs du Bas-Armagnac are placed inoak barrels for aging.
